PAIR Finance is an innovation leader in the receivables management industry, using artificial intelligence to sensitize defaulting consumers to pay outstanding debts without straining customer relationships. The company has experienced significant growth and is looking for a Team Lead Data Science to further develop their machine learning products and lead a team of three Data Scientists. The role involves working on advanced AI fields such as reinforcement learning-driven decisioning, improving portfolio valuation models, and collaborating with stakeholders across departments. The position is based in Berlin with a hybrid working policy.

Requirements

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar
  • 6+ years experience as Data Scientist, ideally in a startup and/or fintech company
  • First leadership experience in a dynamic environment
  • Extensive experience with Python and with data processing packages (e.g. Pandas, Numpy) and machine learning frameworks (e.g. pytorch, scikit-learn, transformers)
  • Familiarity with web frameworks like Flask or FastAPI
  • Deep knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Impressive track-record of projects using Machine Learning to solve business problems
  • Experience with agile development practices such as TDD/BDD, continuous integration, refactoring, code reviews, etc.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure solutions such as AWS
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Willingness to dive into our data and get your hands dirty
