Description

Crytek is seeking a Global Brand & Marketing Director to lead its global marketing function across brand, creative, performance, and lifecycle, reporting to the Chief Publishing Officer. The role involves owning the positioning, launch, and growth of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and unannounced projects. The director will lead the marketing team, build a creative engine, and drive brand ambition into measurable acquisition, retention, and revenue growth. The position requires creative judgment, marketing craft, and the ability to partner with publishing leadership to align marketing, communications, and product strategies.

Requirements

10+ years of marketing leadership across brand, performance, and CRM, with at least 5 in the video games industry
Proven success leading global launches and live service marketing for multi-product portfolios
Strong commercial fluency: CAC / LTV management, paid channel optimization, lifecycle and retention economics
Experience building and leading multidisciplinary creative teams (art, video, design, copy)
Track record using player insights, segmentation, and AI tooling to sharpen creative and media decisions
Excellent communication skills in English and ability to operate across matrixed, global organizations
Passion for video games and a deep understanding of player communities
Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany

After the February 2025 layoffs (15% of ~400 staff), the company put the next Crysis game on hold and refocused exclusively on Hunt: Showdown 1896 (live-service shooter, which crossed 10M players in fall 2025) and CryENGINE licensing. In January 2026 industry veteran Hannes Seifert (ex-Rockstar/Deep Silver/IO Interactive/Riot) joined founder Avni Yerli as Co-CEO to lead game production and publishing.
