Description

Zalando is hiring a Berlin-based Principal Product Designer to work across its Size & Fit and Proposition teams as a one-year parental leave cover. The Size & Fit team helps Zalando's 50+ million customers find the right fit through innovation and science, bringing together applied scientists, engineers, product managers, designers, analysts and fashion experts across Berlin and Zurich. In this role you improve the customer experience of finding the right size, drive foundational fit work and lead the Virtual Fitting Room experience where customers try on clothes with personalised avatars. You will also envision new ways to use product and customer data for personalised size advice, prototype and test rapidly, and mentor other designers. The work aims to help millions choose the right size confidently while reducing returns.

Requirements

  • Exceptional UI/UX skills that raise the quality bar within the team
  • Toolkit covering workshop facilitation, prototyping, user research and UX writing good practices
  • Comfortable diving into uncharted, complex problem spaces and bringing clarity
  • Ability to shape long-term product direction, keep success metrics in focus and turn strategy into cohesive customer experiences
  • Experience with mature design systems and accessibility
  • Ability to experiment and iterate to create innovative, data-informed solutions for diverse customer audiences
  • Clear communication of design rationale and narratives that align stakeholders at every level
  • Trusted collaboration with Product, Engineering and Data Science and active contribution to the design community
