Description

REWE digital is the IT home of the REWE Group, where IT and non-IT specialists build innovations for retail. Applied computer science combines classical computer science with broad application knowledge to create IT solutions that bring technical and business processes together. The dual bachelor's programme lasts three years and is divided into six semesters, each with three months of practice at REWE digital in Cologne and three months at the partner university; and it ends with a bachelor thesis supervised internally and a Bachelor of Science degree. The practice phases take place in the development division and cover programming in languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, ABAP, COBOL and X++, modern tools and frameworks, the operation of Linux and Windows software, database creation and quality assurance through testing. The theory phases are spent at DHBW Mannheim or FHDW Bergisch Gladbach.

Requirements

  • University entrance qualification (Abitur or Fachabitur) with a good grade average
  • Enthusiasm for IT and a good basic understanding of it
  • Interest in software development and basic knowledge of at least one programming language
  • Strong technical and logical-analytical thinking
  • High willingness to learn and perform and good powers of concentration
  • Independent, flexible way of working and a team player attitude
