Description

Statista, the world's leading business data platform, is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data team in Hamburg or Berlin. You will work closely with analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to design, build, and improve modeled data workflows, backend services, data pipelines, AI agents, and workflow orchestration systems. The role involves standardizing fragmented tools into a centralized platform, maintaining production-grade internal tools, and contributing to platform architecture and automation. You will translate evolving business and analyst requirements into practical technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills with experience in backend systems, data pipelines, workflow automation, or internal tooling
  • Hands-on experience developing AI-powered applications using LLMs, AI agents, and modern AI APIs
  • Solid understanding of SQL, databases, and data modeling concepts
  • Experience with Git and writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration and general data engineering concepts
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-evolving environment and adapt to changing technologies and business requirements
  • Structured and thoughtful approach to problem-solving with attention to maintainability and scalability
  • Comfortable collaborating with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication skills and fluent English
