Description

CHECK24's rental car comparison team is expanding internationally and is hiring a Junior Data Scientist to build Generative AI and LLM-based applications, such as intelligent processing of customer inquiries and feedback. The role involves designing applications that work across multiple languages and markets, taking LLM features from idea through evaluation, development, integration and stable production operation. The data scientist will also build repeatable tests and monitoring to measure response quality, reliability, latency and cost as usage grows, working closely with product management, IT and other AI teams at CHECK24.

Requirements

  • Passion for Generative AI and LLMs, following current developments closely
  • Excellent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or a comparable analytical-technical discipline
  • Practical experience building LLM applications (academic, personal or professional projects), e.g. with context engineering, integrating external data/systems, or evaluating multi-step workflows
  • Strong Python programming skills, writing clean and maintainable code, not just prototypes; familiarity with Git, APIs and integrating existing systems
  • Ability to structure complex problems quickly, evaluate different technical approaches and pragmatically decide which delivers the most value
  • Fluent German and good English skills, written and spoken
