Description

Scout24, home of Germany's leading real estate platform ImmoScout24, is looking for a Technical Lead for its Application Platform, which provides the shared capabilities hundreds of engineers use to build, release, observe, operate and recover software. In this individual-contributor role within a department of 12 engineers, you set the platform's technical direction, lead cross-team initiatives and migrations, and own build-versus-buy decisions. You also design and build platform capabilities, automation and self-service APIs on AWS EKS, set standards for reliability, observability and security, and share on-call duties. Candidates need product engineering experience building and operating production services in Go, TypeScript or Python, hands-on AWS and Kubernetes experience, infrastructure as code and CI/CD skills, and SRE practice.

Requirements

  • Experience as a product engineer building and operating production services end to end
  • Production software development in Go, TypeScript or Python and ability to work across unfamiliar codebases
  • Experience designing, building, debugging and operating services on AWS and Kubernetes, including EKS or a comparable environment
  • Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated testing and safe rollout and recovery practices (AWS CDK, Terraform or Pulumi)
  • Experience turning developer needs into secure, reliable APIs, automation and self-service workflows
  • Experience leading technical work, making architecture and build-versus-buy decisions and aligning people without formal authority
  • SRE experience covering observability, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident learning and recovery
  • Willingness to join the shared on-call rotation after onboarding
  • Experience using AI tools for problem-solving and productivity with effective human oversight
