
Sr. Payroll Specialist
Description
Amazon is looking for a senior payroll specialist to act as the central point of contact for German payroll within an international team. The role owns subject-matter expertise for German payroll processing, leads payroll workstreams in M&A and market-expansion projects, and designs robust control frameworks that keep the operation compliant with local legislation. It also drives end-to-end process improvement, runs root-cause analysis on complex payroll issues, and produces financial analyses that support decision-making. Strong stakeholder management across cross-functional teams and mentoring of team members round out the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Experience in process optimisation
- Experience running demanding analyses of complex data and turning them into actionable results, reports and presentations
- Experience with data-driven root cause elimination and process improvement
- At least 3 years of professional experience in payroll or HR
- Fluent German and English
- Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
- Ability to handle ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in stakeholder management
- Strong customer focus
- Solid knowledge of controllership and statutory compliance (tax law, labour law, social security, garnishments, company pension schemes, benefits, terminations)
