Description

Amazon is hiring an entry-level Software Development Engineer for the S3 Data and Analytics organisation in Berlin, working on big data processing at scale. As an SDE-I you will own the full lifecycle of your code, from design through deployment and ongoing operations, building scalable cloud-native services and microservices in a large distributed computing environment. The work includes building resilient, fault-tolerant and cost-effective distributed systems, participating in code reviews and technical documentation, and taking part in on-call duties in an agile CI/CD environment. The team also contributes to and adopts GenAI and AI-powered tools to improve development productivity. The role targets candidates graduating within a defined window or who graduated in the last 24 months.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field, or a completed bachelor's or graduate degree in those fields
  • Expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2026, or graduated within the last 24 months
  • Demonstrated experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust or TypeScript
  • Demonstrated experience in big data processing, data warehousing or data lakes
  • Demonstrated experience in data structures implementation, basic algorithm development or object-oriented design principles
