Senior Applied Scientist

Zalando is hiring a Senior Applied Scientist for its Content Personalization & Governance team in Berlin, which personalizes content selection and ranking on discovery surfaces such as the Home Feed. The role develops and deploys deep learning and reinforcement learning models for real-time content delivery and solves multi-objective ranking and allocation problems that balance conversion, long-term engagement and monetization. You will shape research roadmaps, partner with principal scientists, ML engineers and product managers to ship models to production, and mentor other scientists. The position suits a scientist with an advanced quantitative degree and 6+ years of applied science experience in recommender systems and large-scale ML.
