Description

Orbem, an AI-driven MRI technology company headquartered in Munich, is hiring a Director of Field Operations to own how the company shows up at customer sites, installing, servicing, and maintaining multi-million-euro imaging systems. The role spans Europe and the US, covering end-to-end delivery of installations, on-site service, and scheduled maintenance, plus building SOP maturity, tooling, and quality standards. The director leads and grows Field Engineers, Project Managers, and regional leads, and designs the organization ahead of the company's growth into new verticals and geographies. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and requires significant travel to European and US customer sites.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in field or service operations, having led installation, on-site service, and maintenance operations for complex technical products
  • Experience with hardware-plus-service business models where installation, uptime, and maintenance are as important as the machine itself
  • Experience at operational scale, having worked in an organization with mature SOPs, field service tooling, quality processes, and clear team structures
  • Multi-region leadership experience, having built and led geographically distributed teams and developed team leads into strong operational leaders
  • Ability to design the operating model and roadmap while also being hands-on at customer sites when needed
  • Technical fluency to engage credibly on site planning, requirement specifications, and installation and commissioning detail
  • Willingness to travel to European and US sites, and an EU Class B driver's licence
  • Fluent English
