Description

A senior, executive-level architecture role with strategic and technical responsibility for a customer's regulated, highly available cloud platform. The architect defines target architectures, security and operating standards, and creates reference architectures, blueprints, guardrails and Infrastructure-as-Code templates for build, run and integration. Responsibilities include defining cloud-native operating standards (Kubernetes, multi-cluster, Helm, GitOps), deriving application migration strategies, and owning the security and compliance architecture based on zero trust and regulatory requirements (C5, BSI IT baseline protection, GDPR, VS-NfD). The role designs highly available multi-cluster/multi-site architectures and provides technical leadership across reviews, onboarding and knowledge management.

Requirements

  • Many years of experience as a solution and enterprise architect in the cloud environment
  • In-depth expertise in cloud-native architectures (CNCF landscape, microservices, 12-factor principles)
  • Design, build and optimize operating models using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
  • Extensive experience in containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, multi-cluster, federation) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Linux, KubeVirt)
  • Confident use of modern orchestration and platform tools (e.g. Helm, Service Mesh, Crossplane, Gardener)
  • Strategic understanding and practical application of GitOps principles (Argo CD, Flux) as well as CI/CD architectures and Git workflows (e.g. GitFlow)
  • Proven experience developing and implementing cloud migration strategies (e.g. lift & shift, cloud-native transformation)
  • Profound programming and code review experience (e.g. Go, Open Source, Git)
  • In-depth expertise in security and governance frameworks (Zero Trust, BSI IT Grundschutz, ISO 27001)
  • Strong ability to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders at management level
  • Experience in architectural modelling and documentation
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English
