Description

HOLOPLOT is hiring a Senior Director Software Engineering in Berlin to lead its roughly 20-person software engineering organization and own the long-term architecture of its high-performance audio products. The role takes full technical ownership of end-to-end delivery across embedded and distributed Linux systems, audio DSP, 3D/GPU, C++, Rust and web front-ends, Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure. It acts as the operational bridge between engineering, hardware, research, product and customer success and reports to the CTO. Responsibilities span strategic technical vision, high-stakes client delivery, team building, cross-functional alignment, AI-assisted development strategy, operational excellence and security and compliance. Extensive experience leading sizeable multidisciplinary engineering teams and deep-tech literacy across a heterogeneous stack are required.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing software teams of significant size (15-30+ engineers) in complex, multi-disciplinary technology environments
  • Deep-tech literacy across a heterogeneous stack: low-level/embedded C++ and Rust, audio DSP, 3D/GPU rendering, Linux, Kubernetes, NATS, gRPC, JUCE, CI/CD and web services
  • Proven track record driving complex hardware-software product rollouts and managing high-stakes client or partner integrations end-to-end
  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder management, diplomacy and technical communication skills
  • Pragmatic decision-making with high clarity in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrated experience establishing AI-development strategies and driving adoption of AI-assisted software development and LLM tooling
  • Experience with the Pro Audio and Music Technology product space, as both developer and user
