Description

Compliance leadership role in SumUp's Global AML team, based at the Berlin office in an office-first setup. You own the PEP and sanctions screening framework, shape customer risk-scoring models, and set direction for KYC strategy as SumUp's product range and regulatory footprint grow. You partner with AML Operations, Onboarding and product teams to turn regulatory requirements into scalable controls, and provide expert judgement on complex KYC and AML matters. The role suits an experienced KYC manager in fintech, payments, e-money or banking who has led teams through regulatory change.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a KYC manager in fintech, payments, e-money or banking, including leading teams through regulatory change
  • Deep knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and law-enforcement reporting frameworks, including PEP and sanctions screening
  • Experience building and managing screening frameworks and customer risk-scoring models
  • Strong judgement balancing commercial priorities with regulatory obligations
  • Confidence engaging regulators and senior leadership
  • Comfort working across payments, merchant acquiring and small-business risk profiles in multiple markets
