Description

SoundCloud is hiring a Director of Accounting to serve as the senior accounting leader in its Berlin Accounting & Tax department, reporting directly to the VP Group Controller. You will own group consolidation, IFRS financial reporting, German HGB statutory reporting, intercompany accounts, and technical accounting positions, while directing the annual audit and leading the local accounting team. You will also lead the selection and roll-out of a dedicated group consolidation platform, replacing the current Oracle Fusion and spreadsheet process. The role requires 8+ years in top-tier audit or corporate group accounting, a professional credential such as CPA, Steuerberater, Wirtschaftsprüfer, or ACCA, and fluency in English and German.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience within top-tier audit firms or corporate group accounting environments
  • Fully certified professional credentials (e.g. CPA, Steuerberater, Wirtschaftsprüfer, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Hands-on background in IFRS multi-entity consolidation, including consolidated statements across foreign currencies
  • Solid understanding of the German HGB statutory framework, local compliance, and tax audit procedures
  • Proven supervisory leadership managing and developing accounting personnel
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and German
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP, financial close, and procurement systems
