Description

REWE digital is hiring a Chief Product Owner for its Customer Relations & Sales (CRS) domain, based in Cologne. CRS is structured as a product organization responsible for a wide range of centrally managed sales processes around customers, marketing, and customer loyalty, including multichannel marketing, campaign management, retail media, multi-brand loyalty management, and sales and distribution processes. In this leadership role the Chief Product Owner has disciplinary leadership of 5-10 Product Owners, sets the cluster strategy derived from the IT, business, and domain strategy, and owns consolidated headcount and budget planning. The role acts as a servant leader fostering agile values, continuous improvement of processes, and stakeholder transparency across IT, project management, and business users. It requires several years of leadership and product ownership experience, broad IT expertise, and a completed degree, ideally in a STEM field or business informatics.

Requirements

  • Confidence in dealing with top-management stakeholders, with strong communication skills and a solution-oriented, shaping mindset
  • Experience developing and implementing long-term goals and strategies aligned with company objectives
  • An entrepreneurial approach with business and economic knowledge to steer the area commercially
  • A successfully completed degree, preferably in a STEM field or business informatics, with proven IT experience, ideally with knowledge of the retail environment
  • Broad IT expertise and a deep understanding of technical systems, familiar with standard systems and in-house developments (hands-on end-to-end experience in agile, product-oriented setups)
  • Several years of relevant leadership experience building, developing, coaching, and leading high-performing teams
  • Several years of experience in product ownership and modern working methods (agile, lean, etc.)
  • Willingness to be on-site in Cologne-Porz about three days per week on average
  • Fluent German and good English
