Description

Superchat, a Berlin-based customer-messaging and AI platform, is hiring its first Data Engineer to own the data platform end to end, from raw product and business data to the gold tables the whole company reports on. Building on existing foundations (a warehouse, pipelines, dbt and reverse ETL), you make the platform trustworthy at scale with testing, monitoring, clear modelling layers and historical tracking. You set the standards for how data is modelled and documented and work with a Business Analyst to build the gold tables Finance, Sales, Marketing and Product rely on. The stack is AWS Redshift, dbt, Dagster, Airbyte, Hightouch and Metabase, and the role is hybrid from the Berlin office.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of building and running data pipelines in production, ideally at a SaaS company
  • Have owned a data platform or a large part of one and are comfortable making architecture calls
  • Strong in SQL and dbt, writing and reviewing complex SQL and building dbt projects with layered models, tests and documentation
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses, ideally AWS Redshift (BigQuery or Snowflake also fine)
  • Reliability-minded, thinking in tests, freshness checks, idempotent loads and backfills
  • Curious about the business and able to model data so definitions like MRR, churn and active workspace hold everywhere
