Description

An Internal IT Auditor role at the digital bank N26, based in Berlin, conducting the full IT audit cycle to ensure operational effectiveness, reliability and regulatory compliance across internal IT environments and critical ICT third-party ecosystems. The auditor performs risk and control management over IT operations, leads audits of third-party vendors, outsourced service providers and cloud infrastructures, and evaluates their control environments. The role analyzes documentation and data using data-driven audit approaches, prepares Internal Audit reports that translate technical findings into business-relevant recommendations for senior management, and continuously monitors the IT and ICT vendor risk landscape. It requires deep knowledge of IT General Controls, modern cloud architectures, operational resilience and ICT Third-Party Risk Management, plus European frameworks such as DORA and MaRisk.

Requirements

  • 6 years of significant experience as an Internal IT Auditor at an international company in a regulated environment (preferably a bank, financial institution, fintech or audit/consulting firm)
  • Deep understanding of IT General Controls (ITGC), modern IT/cloud architectures, operational resilience frameworks and ICT Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM)
  • Solid understanding of European financial regulatory frameworks relevant to IT and outsourcing, particularly DORA and MaRisk
  • Experience in data-driven audit approaches, including large-scale data evaluation, and proficiency with modern audit tools
  • Ability to engage with internal teams and external ICT service providers, including reviewing third-party assurance attestations (e.g. SOC 1/SOC 2, ISO, ISAE 3402)
  • High integrity and professional skepticism with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
