Description

Helsing, a European defence AI company, is hiring an Avionics Systems Engineer in Munich for weapon integration, responsible for integrating and qualifying weapon systems end to end from concept through certification. You will be the connecting point between weapon suppliers, customers and internal engineering teams across aerodynamics, structures, mission systems, electrics, safety and logistics. You will define and approve weapon-specific design and analysis work such as store separation and structural limits, produce system specifications and interface control documents, and set the test and qualification strategy across rig, ground and flight testing. Candidates should have integrated external stores, missiles or weapon systems onto a military platform through to qualification, applied standards such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760 and DO-160, and managed requirements in DOORS or Polarion. An extended German security clearance (Ü2/Ü3) and English and German are required.

Requirements

  • Have integrated external stores, missiles or weapon systems onto a military platform and taken that work through to qualification or certification
  • Apply systems engineering practice with confidence, including the V-model and standards such as ARP4754A or INCOSE guidance
  • Work fluently with military and airworthiness standards relevant to weapon integration, for example MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810 and DO-160
  • Manage requirements in tools such as IBM DOORS or Siemens Polarion, and explain complex technical trade-offs clearly to both engineering and management audiences
  • Meet the conditions for an extended German security clearance (Ü2/Ü3), given the sensitive nature of the programme, and communicate comfortably in English and German as the working language
