Description

SumUp is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer for its Order Taking squad, which owns core ordering experiences in SumUp's Point of Sale app, including the shopping bag, checkout, catalog, open orders, table management, and printer integrations. The engineer builds new hospitality workflows and evolves established ordering experiences across iOS and Android, using SwiftUI for platform-specific UI and contributing to shared Kotlin Multiplatform business logic. The role involves complex mobile engineering across multi-device synchronisation and shared order state in a large, established application. This is an office-first position based in Berlin.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production iOS applications in Swift, with strong SwiftUI knowledge
  • Experience working in a large, established codebase and making pragmatic improvements without a full rewrite
  • Ability to work independently, challenge assumptions, propose solutions proactively, and communicate clearly and directly
  • Experience collaborating closely with Android engineers or other cross-platform partners to align product behaviour
  • Sound technical judgement, balancing product delivery, code quality, and long-term maintainability
