Description

Site Reliability Engineer role in the Zalando Payments team in Berlin, working on the highly available microservices that control the payment flow from checkout to refund. You bring modern infrastructure technologies to the payment services and design, deploy, operate and monitor these mission-critical systems. The work covers platform changes from proof of concept to production, infrastructure-as-code, workflow automation, production operations and monitoring. Candidates need a strong Linux, Kubernetes and Docker background and the ability to write Python or Go to automate processes. The team works in a hybrid model with 60% or more remote work per week.

Requirements

  • Strong background in Linux system administration and architecture design, with proven experience managing highly scalable environments
  • Profound understanding of the Kubernetes and Docker ecosystems and comfort with cloud-native setups
  • Passion for SRE best practices, including building infrastructure-as-code and automated testing pipelines
  • Ability to write clean, efficient Python or Go code to automate processes and solve complex technical challenges
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions and take full ownership of technical topics
