Description

GetYourGuide is a travel experiences platform connecting millions of users with unique activities worldwide. The Central Data Products team builds and operates horizontal data and ML products that power the company's marketplace, including location tagging, landing page eligibility, destination maps, and customer lifetime value models. As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a senior cross-functional team of Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, and a Product Manager, driving strategy, execution, and adoption of these products. The role involves managing hiring, performance, roadmap, and technical challenges, while partnering with stakeholders across the company. This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, requiring three days in the office per week.

Requirements

  • Strong sense of ownership, ensuring technical and product plans are aligned with stakeholders, team, and company goals.
  • Ability to approach ambiguous, broadly scoped problems with an open mind and bias toward a directional first version.
  • Strong technical background in machine learning and engineering, enabling evaluation of modeling approaches, data architecture, evaluation methods, and production pipelines.
  • Active leadership and contribution to technical, design, and product discussions, balancing exploration speed with production reliability.
  • Passion for building and developing a high-performing team, mentoring and empowering senior individual contributors.
  • Ability to translate technical results into business decisions and engage with commercial stakeholders on impact and trade-offs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
