CHECK24's market-leading car rental comparison team in Munich is hiring a Junior PHP Fullstack Developer to help drive the internationalization of its car rental comparison product. The developer localizes and extends applications end-to-end for new countries, covering landing pages, booking flows, payment, and post-booking self-service, using PHP in the backend and TypeScript/React Router in the frontend. The role also involves building reusable components and technical standards for multilingual, cross-country applications, evolving the PHP/TypeScript/React Router/MySQL tech stack, and using modern AI coding tools to speed up development. Candidates need an excellent degree in a technical field, initial PHP/MySQL experience, interest in TypeScript, React Router, and DevOps, and fluent German with good English.

Requirements

  • Excellent degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • Initial work experience and understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Knowledge of object-oriented development with PHP and MySQL, and interest in TypeScript and React Router
  • Prior experience with the Linux shell, a sense for software architecture, and interest in DevOps (Linux)
  • Passion for fullstack web development with PHP, TypeScript, and React Router, following clean-code principles
  • Strong quality awareness, hands-on mentality, very good communication and teamwork skills, and high performance drive
  • Fluent German skills and good English skills
