Description

Taxfix, a fintech whose app helps people file their taxes with confidence, is hiring a (Senior) Software Engineer in Berlin to build core features for its flagship product. The role turns complex tax scenarios into simple, reliable experiences, working hands-on in a cross-functional team with deep expertise in either frontend or backend engineering while collaborating across the stack. Engineers own work end to end, from discovery and technical design through implementation, release, monitoring and iteration, and use AI-assisted development tools throughout. The role helps raise the bar for scalable design, quality, maintainability and AI-first software development, and is hybrid based in Berlin.

Requirements

  • Professional software engineering experience with React and Node.js and designing reliable backend services and APIs
  • Able to work effectively across system boundaries and collaborate with engineers outside your primary specialism
  • Use AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering work while maintaining high engineering standards
  • Able to evaluate and troubleshoot AI-generated output and use effective prompting
  • Experience working with a public cloud environment such as Google Cloud, AWS or Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts and practices, including CI/CD, observability and operating software in production
  • Understanding of core application and backend concepts (authentication, databases, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, API integrations)
  • A builder-first, pragmatic approach with a passion for maintainable code
