Description

As a Data Scientist in trivago's Visual & AI Content team (part of Content Data Science), you leverage NLP and large language models to transform how travelers discover and understand hotel content. You develop and deploy end-to-end machine learning solutions using NLP and text-generation techniques, and build LLMs and foundation models for text understanding, automated summarization, and content optimization at scale. You apply advanced techniques — predictive and statistical modelling and deep learning — and drive data-driven decisions through experimental design and A/B testing. The role requires an advanced degree in a quantitative field, 3+ years deploying ML in production, and deep expertise in Python, SQL, and cloud computing.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field, with 3+ years of practical experience deploying ML algorithms in production environments
  • Deep expertise in Python, SQL, and cloud computing
  • A strong background in NLP/NLG, large language models, and foundation models for text processing
  • Proven ability to design and execute experiments, apply statistical methods, and translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business impact
  • A solid foundation in experimentation — A/B test design, bias awareness, guardrail metrics, and connecting offline quality to online business outcomes
