Description

A hands-on engineering leadership role on trivago's Content team in Düsseldorf, improving the hotel price-comparison experience for millions of daily users. You coach and mentor a group of 3-4 software engineers while staying technically involved, sitting at the intersection of product strategy and engineering. You define team OKRs, translate strategic priorities into fast, test-driven iterations, and model an AI-first engineering mindset. The work centres on a modern frontend stack (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, ideally Next.js and GraphQL) in a fast-paced, A/B-testing-heavy environment.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Hands-on experience with React
  • Experience leading, coaching or mentoring a team with a track record of helping others grow while delivering results
  • Confident, direct communication skills to work with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt your leadership style situationally (direct, coach, support, delegate)
  • A genuine learning mindset and a performance mindset
  • A hands-on, daily commitment to using AI tools in real workflows and enabling the team to do the same
