Description

Trade Republic is hiring a Backend Engineer with Haskell experience in Berlin, with relocation support if required, to build services on the JVM stack alongside Haskell. The role involves building and testing services with Kotlin, Spring, Vert.x, Hibernate, jOOQ, and Haskell, designing highly available, low-latency, scalable cloud services on AWS, and implementing automated delivery with GitHub Actions, container-based CI/CD, and Kubernetes. Candidates need around five years of software engineering experience (ideally JVM) with production Haskell experience and a solid command of functional programming concepts and the Haskell toolchain. Experience building platform services that accelerate product development is a plus.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in the JVM ecosystem, with production experience in Haskell
  • Solid command of functional programming concepts (pure functions, algebraic data types, monadic effects) and hands-on experience with the Haskell toolchain (GHC, Cabal or Stack, common libraries)
  • Experience developing and shipping scalable features within a service-oriented architecture
  • Strong commitment to delivering reliable, maintainable software using iterative development and continuous delivery
