Description

A Principal Product Designer role (an individual-contributor leadership position) on Zalando's Berlin-based Loyalty Design Team, offered as a temporary contract to cover a parental leave of absence. The designer owns the overall experience of the Plus loyalty program, driving customer-centric, gamified loyalty experiences from problem definition through solution design and execution. The role sets the strategic UX and visual direction, champions the design system and runs experimentation, while mentoring two other designers. It combines strong UX/UI craft with visual storytelling, advanced prototyping and cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering and brand.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of designing visually rich, customer-facing digital products
  • Strong foundational UX/UI skills
  • Refined aesthetic sensibility with deep understanding of hierarchy, typography, colour and layout
  • Ability to translate brand identity into a living product design system
  • Hands-on expertise with advanced prototyping and design systems
  • Influential communication and cross-functional alignment skills
  • Growth mindset driven by experimentation and rapid prototyping
  • Advocacy for accessibility and inclusive design
  • Experience with A/B testing and product analytics
