Description

FINN is hiring an Engineering Manager for its Tooling & Security department to own and improve internal tooling, cloud governance and security. The role leads an international team of engineers, hiring, coaching and acting as a technical role model, while helping the rest of the company work efficiently and securely. Hands-on contributions include driving development of tooling for cloud governance, security detection and automation, and IT management, with a serverless, build-it-run-it approach that includes testing, deployment and monitoring. The manager is also expected to own company-wide technical projects such as migrations and patching, and to lead disaster recovery and incident response when needed. The role can be done from the Munich office or remotely within the EU, within about three hours of Central European Time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a similar field
  • Proven track record with 5+ years of software engineering experience in larger projects
  • 2+ years of experience building and leading a team of software engineers in a fast-paced development environment
  • Experience with platform or security engineering practices
  • Ability to own and drive company-wide technical projects such as migrations and patching as a coordinator
  • Solid knowledge of TypeScript, Python or Go with the ability to write and review code without AI assistance
  • Deep knowledge of AWS or GCP and willingness to learn the other quickly
  • Fluent English with excellent communication skills
