Description

Scout24 subsidiary Sprengnetter, a property valuation and real-estate finance company, is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and coach its DevOps team. The role owns end-to-end reliability, availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of the company's cloud, hybrid, and on-premises production systems. Responsibilities include driving CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure automation improvements, owning monitoring, alerting, and incident response, and partnering with engineering, product, security, and compliance teams. The manager also establishes operational standards and governance and owns compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and GDPR, including audits and risk analysis. Candidates need multi-year DevOps/SRE leadership experience plus strong Linux, PostgreSQL/MariaDB, CI/CD, and infrastructure-automation skills.

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure operations, or a comparable field, with proven experience leading teams both professionally and as a people manager
  • Solid experience operating, scaling, and optimizing business-critical production environments, ideally in regulated industries
  • Deep knowledge of Linux system administration and operating highly available, secure production systems
  • Strong understanding of modern, scalable system architectures and experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MariaDB
  • Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins), infrastructure automation (e.g. Ansible), container technologies (e.g. Docker), application platforms such as Tomcat, and cloud/hybrid infrastructure
  • Good automation and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or comparable technologies
  • Experience with information security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and Internal Control Systems (ICS)
  • Analytical mindset with a structured, solution-oriented way of working, and experience using AI tools to increase productivity and problem-solving
  • Very good German and English skills, written and spoken
