Description

Talon. One is seeking a Documentation Engineer to join the Developer Experience (DevX) team in Berlin. The team supports customers integrating and using Talon. One's product, managing product docs, developer docs, in-product UX copy, and the technical infrastructure behind the docs platform. The role involves writing documentation and building tooling, working with Product teams, and co-owning the pipeline from OpenAPI spec to published API reference. The ideal candidate has developer empathy, can write code independently, and is comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • Developer empathy: approach and write docs to increase an integrating engineer's efficiency; produce clear, accurate content
  • Ability to write code without AI as a crutch: write scripts, debug error output, and ship working solutions independently
  • Comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Fluency with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with or reading OpenAPI 3.x specifications
  • Clear understanding of what makes documentation machine-readable, not only human-readable
  • Practical experience with AI tools, especially Claude; use them daily and know how to prompt for useful output
  • A preference for correctness over volume; know when to automate and when automation produces noise
