Description

Personio is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Data Platform team, which enables all Personio engineers to build data-rich experiences across the product. You conceptualize and own technical solutions end-to-end, build platform tooling that improves developer experience, and drive the reliability, scalability and security of a future-proof data platform. The work spans event-driven architecture, data governance, CI/CD and operational excellence, with deep use of Kubernetes, AWS and Kafka. The position is hybrid, based in either Dublin or Munich.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience building and designing scalable applications, tools or distributed systems
  • Experience designing, building, documenting and distributing robust platform solutions end to end
  • Deep understanding of DevOps tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS (CDK, ECS, Fargate), GitLab, DataDog, Sentry, Projen, Backstage and Docker
  • Experience with progressive delivery automation (CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, canary deployments, service mesh)
  • Proficiency in Kafka operations and building platform tools that use Kafka
  • Experience prototyping, building, deploying and operating data streaming applications with technology like Kafka Streams
  • Interest in optimizing and automating development processes and practices
