Description

REWE digital is hiring a Full Stack Developer in Cologne to join a cross-functional product team responsible for its Advertising Procurement & Invoicing product, which lets marketing teams book and manage advertising for campaigns end-to-end through to SAP. The role covers the full realization of requirements and their operational support, building scalable web solutions with Angular, microservices, and Google Cloud while applying clean code and clean architecture. The developer will also help migrate a legacy Apache Wicket monolith to the REWE standard toolkit and a Google Cloud microservice architecture, and ensure software quality through pair programming and code reviews. The position is fixed-term until the end of 2027 and requires experience with Angular, TypeScript, Java/Spring Boot, and relational databases such as DB2 or Oracle.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification, or equivalent practical experience
  • Practical experience in object-oriented software development and familiarity with the challenges of evolving legacy applications and transforming monolithic systems into modern, service-oriented architectures
  • Experience developing modern web applications; knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and Angular, as well as Java (8+) and the Spring ecosystem, especially Spring Boot
  • Experience with relational databases such as DB2 or Oracle, and SQL
  • Confident communication in German and good English skills for collaboration in a modern development environment
