Description

DeepL is hiring a Senior Information Security Manager to strengthen its Governance, Risk and Compliance function within the Information Security team, reporting into the Head of Security track alongside IT Security. You own the day-to-day operation of the information security and compliance programme, centred on ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II, and keep the ISMS, risk register, policy library, vendor risk assessments and control monitoring current. The role is deliberately not a gatekeeper: it means making pragmatic, defensible risk calls that unblock fast-moving product and engineering teams, and embedding compliance into their existing workflows. You also run audits hands-on with auditors and control owners, automate evidence collection with GRC tooling such as Vanta, and report programme status, open risks and remediation progress to leadership.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in information security, GRC or compliance roles, ideally at a SaaS company at scale-up pace
  • Hands-on experience running or supporting ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II programmes and audits, from control design through evidence collection to certification
  • Practical experience with GRC and evidence automation tooling such as Vanta or equivalent, including building low-friction processes around it
  • Track record of building processes that shift evidence ownership to the teams generating the evidence
  • Sound risk judgment and comfort making calculated, defensible decisions that keep product teams unblocked
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with engineers, product managers and leadership
  • Fluent English and German at C1 level (or close to it)
  • Clear, structured communication that translates compliance requirements into actionable guidance for engineering and product
