Description

Orbem uses AI to industrialize MRI, providing non-invasive insights into biological matter to reduce waste and promote sustainability. As Legal Counsel, you will build the legal and compliance function from the ground up, covering commercial contracts, corporate matters, employment, data protection, and product & AI regulation. You will work hands-on, making pragmatic risk-balanced decisions and managing external counsel. This role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, building compliance frameworks, and advising the executive team. You will report to the COO and collaborate across all departments.

Requirements

  • Qualified German lawyer (Volljurist or Wirtschaftsjurist) with strong in-house experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid foundation in German corporate and commercial contract law, with a focus on B2B operations
  • Hands-on builder: personally set up legal and/or compliance processes, templates, and frameworks
  • Comfortable working without a large team, being the person in the room
  • Business-minded and pragmatic, making risk-balanced decisions
  • Comfortable coordinating multi-jurisdictional matters, especially across the EU and US
  • Fluent in German and English, able to translate complex legal issues into practical advice
