Description

NavVis, which builds mobile mapping and reality-capture systems, is expanding its Electrical Engineering team and offers an internship on custom electronics for its scanning hardware. The intern works alongside experienced engineers on multi-layer PCBs, high-speed signals, power management and rigid-flex designs, building prototypes and test setups and characterising hardware. The role also covers hardware bring-up, validation and the transition from prototype to production, in collaboration with Mechanical Design, Embedded Software, Supply Chain and Software Engineering. It is aimed at someone between a bachelor's and master's degree, a recent graduate, or someone between jobs who wants hands-on hardware product development experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience from internships, university projects, working student roles or product development
  • PCB design experience with tools such as Altium, Eagle or KiCad
  • Hands-on prototyping and soldering skills, comfortable with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters
  • Familiarity with embedded systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and basic programming experience, ideally in Python
  • Good communication and collaboration skills for working across Mechanical Design, Embedded Software, Supply Chain and Software Engineering in a fast-paced agile environment
