Description

Hornetsecurity is hiring a Junior Infrastructure Engineer for its Hannover (List) location, full-time (40 hours/week), starting immediately. You accompany the entire data center lifecycle, from building new racks and commissioning servers to ongoing operations, taking on more responsibility as you gain experience. Day-to-day work includes installing and cabling PDUs, network components and servers, configuring BIOS, firmware and RAID, and troubleshooting hardware and infrastructure issues. You also work with deployment and automation processes and, depending on the project, travel to data centers, occasionally for up to a week at a time.

Requirements

  • Completed IT vocational training, a comparable technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience
  • Basic knowledge of Linux, willing to expand it in daily operations
  • Basic understanding of networks and TCP/IP
  • Interest in server hardware, network technology and data center infrastructure, and enjoys hands-on hardware work
  • Careful, reliable working style with own ideas for questioning and improving processes
  • Team player with good English skills
  • Willingness to travel to data centers depending on project needs
