Description
HelloFresh is hiring an Executive Sous Chef to take a central leadership role in kitchen operations, shaping the culture, capability and performance of the entire culinary team. The role acts as the bridge between shifts, running a structured handover process to guarantee continuity, and mentors Area Managers on operational decision-making and performance management. The Executive Sous Chef monitors KPIs on productivity, quality and customer satisfaction, enforces food hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice standards, and champions consistency and innovation in food preparation. This is a 24-month contract role based in Verden, Germany, with a possible extension.
Requirements
- Solid track record of leading kitchen teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with the ability to manage both people and production simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of kitchen operations, shift management, and cross-functional coordination.
- Comfortable working with performance data, identifying trends, and translating metrics into actionable improvements for the team.
- Experience mentoring supervisors and team leads, with a genuine commitment to growing the people around you.
- Thorough, practical understanding of GMP standards, food hygiene protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Clear, direct communicator who builds trust across teams and creates an environment where feedback flows both ways.
- Calm and decisive under pressure, able to pivot quickly when operational demands shift without losing sight of quality or safety standards.
