Description

Delivery Hero is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for its Logistics Optimization team, which owns and continuously improves the real-time vehicle routing algorithm that assigns orders efficiently across the world. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable ML model services and the infrastructure that feeds critical inputs to the dispatch algorithm every minute. The engineer will collaborate with data scientists to build scalable solutions, develop ML engineering tooling for model development, monitoring, serving, and experimentation, and leverage Delivery Hero's cloud infrastructure. The role is hybrid, based at Delivery Hero's Berlin campus with in-office collaboration two days a week.

Requirements

  • Ideally 4+ years of experience in ML engineering or MLOps, familiar with the ML engineering ecosystem for model serving, training, experimentation, and feature engineering
  • Hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Python and building infrastructure around machine learning pipelines
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience designing and implementing diverse machine learning models (regression, classification, tree-based ensembles) backed by a strong theoretical foundation in statistics and probability
  • Experience building new applications from scratch and quick proofs of concept using open-source tools
  • Experience evaluating technologies for business problems and proposing solutions based on pros and cons analysis
  • Experience deep-diving into existing systems for investigations and improvements
  • Fluency in English with clarity in written and verbal communication
