Description

Raisin, a Berlin-based fintech savings and investment platform, is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead its Investment and Pension (IPP) engineering organization of 25+ engineers, both strategically and operationally. The role covers delivery quality and speed, domain ownership of the IPP platform and system landscape, technical strategy, team culture and development, and process and compliance, working in a domain-driven organization alongside a Product partner. The director is accountable for team commitments, resolving impediments, shaping technical strategy, mentoring and hiring top engineering talent, and driving KPI-based reporting and technical debt reduction across the IPP domain.

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of leadership experience across projects and teams, with a natural aptitude for growing high-performing teams
  • At least 4 years of experience in FinTech
  • Strong business mindset
  • Strong AWS knowledge, Java, SQL, Kafka or other messaging solutions
  • Pragmatic, able to balance taking and delegating the lead in challenging situations
  • Strong strategic and excellent operational leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Solid data engineering/analytics background and hands-on mentality
  • Experienced with OKR and KPI-based target agreements
  • Familiar with architecturally-heavy systems, including designing, implementing, and evolving system constraints
  • Fluent English
