Description

HelloFresh is hiring an experienced SOC analyst to act as a Senior Security Engineer within its Security Operations Centre. In a flat team structure you handle escalations from junior analysts, drive complex investigations and ensure accurate incident reporting, serving as the shift's main point of contact for Berlin SOC leadership during major incidents. The role is hands-on and technical: maturing logging and monitoring of cloud, IT and application workloads through automation and infrastructure as code, building advanced correlation and detection rules, conducting threat hunts with EDR and network telemetry, and leading incident detection and response in AWS and enterprise IT environments. You also mentor L1 analysts, run purple teaming workshops, refine playbooks and SOPs, and produce security metrics and reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven security monitoring and incident response experience in public cloud environments
  • Experience with cloud SIEM and SOAR platforms, DDoS mitigation tools and Layer-7 web-based perimeter security controls
  • Excellent programming (automation) skills with Python or Go
  • Ability to use AI coding assistants to write and debug Python scripts for security automation and data parsing
  • Proficiency writing detection rules (Sigma, KQL), using AI tools to optimise query performance and coverage
  • Understanding of network intrusion methods, network containment and segregation techniques, and technologies such as sandboxes and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Ability to analyse disparate log sources on demand and separate signal from noise
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Command over log analysis stacks such as Elasticsearch, Splunk/Sumo Logic and Graylog
  • Open to working on-call in rotational shifts
  • Able to meet response time and incident closure metrics with thorough documentation and timely stakeholder updates
