Description

Delivery Hero is looking for a System Engineering Manager (M1) in Berlin to lead two squads within Enterprise Infrastructure: a Server/Cloud Infrastructure team handling on-prem and cloud workloads for internal users, and a Network Infrastructure team responsible for office infrastructure. The role combines people leadership (hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback and growth plans) with technical ownership of architecture and operational excellence across on-prem, cloud and enterprise networking. The manager translates stakeholder needs from IT, Security and Workplace Experience into roadmaps, owns end-to-end change management, incident response and SLA-bound vulnerability remediation. A strong focus is driving AI adoption as the default method for configuration generation, automation and troubleshooting, while ensuring safe and policy-compliant use of approved tools. The position follows a hybrid model with two days per week on the Berlin campus.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems or network engineering
  • At least 1-3 years in a people management or technical leadership role
  • Working knowledge of on-prem and cloud server infrastructure covering compute, storage, virtualization and major cloud providers
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking including switching, routing, wireless, SD-WAN and firewalls
  • Comfortable overseeing diverse multi-vendor hardware and platform environments such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Extreme Networks, Arista and Aruba
  • Experience working within structured change control environments, reviewing technical plans, impact assessments and rollback procedures
  • Understanding of security fundamentals across infrastructure and network layers, including vulnerability management and SLA-driven remediation
  • Track record of running effective 1:1s, performance reviews and hiring processes
