Description

Moonfare, a Berlin-headquartered private markets investment platform, is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a meaningful part of its engineering organisation. You would lead one or more product engineering teams alongside the DevOps and infrastructure engineers who own the cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, architecture and observability. You would be accountable for the health, growth and delivery of those teams as well as for the reliability, security and scalability of the systems beneath them. The role also includes owning the technical direction of infrastructure and architecture and balancing new platform work against architectural debt. A particular focus is helping lead the company's move toward agentic engineering, setting how the team uses AI coding tools while keeping quality, security and review standards high.

Requirements

  • Experience managing software engineers, having led at least one team and owned its delivery and growth
  • A strong engineering background in infrastructure, platform or backend systems with the depth to set architectural direction
  • Deep hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, in particular AWS, and modern infrastructure practice including infrastructure as code, containers and orchestration, CI/CD and observability
  • A coaching instinct and genuine satisfaction in other people's growth and success
  • Clear communication and the judgement to know when to dig into detail and when to trust the team
  • Ability to collaborate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfort with ambiguity and change in a scaling organisation
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot and a considered view on where they help
