Description

The ZEOS B2B Platform is the engine that lets Zalando's partners integrate into its ecosystem, and this Berlin-based Senior Fullstack Engineer role is a key architect position on the services behind partner-facing products and internal operational tools. The work is mainly backend: designing and evolving high-performance microservices in Java and Spring Boot, building clean versioned REST APIs, and running them on AWS and Kubernetes under a "You Write It, You Run It" model that includes 24/7 operational health. Seniority here means mentoring peers, driving technical alignment across teams and setting engineering standards through testing, code reviews and observability. The role also expects collaboration with frontend teams and a willingness to work across the stack. Zalando offers a hybrid model with up to 40% remote work per week.

Requirements

  • Seasoned Java developer with deep Spring Boot expertise and a strong grasp of the modern JVM ecosystem, including Gradle
  • Extensive experience with microservice architectures, distributed systems and clean versioned REST API design
  • Proficiency deploying and operating applications on AWS and working in Kubernetes environments
  • Highly skilled at building CI/CD pipelines, with automated testing and observability treated as fundamentals
  • Comfortable in agile environments, taking complex topics from discovery to production
  • Excellent English and the ability to translate technical complexity into actionable plans
