Description

Delivery Hero is hiring a Senior Java Software Engineer into the Category Management team within its Quick Commerce tribe in Berlin. The team owns product categorisation across Delivery Hero's Global Catalog, the category tree customers navigate when shopping, and focuses on how fast, accurately and autonomously the catalog is categorised. You will build the next-generation platform that extends delivery beyond food into groceries, pharmaceuticals, flowers and other non-food categories, and design internal back-office systems such as the master product database, catalog management, campaign management and ad-serving. The work sits at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems, applied ML and LLMs, and direct customer impact across global storefronts, and requires building reliable, highly concurrent services.

Requirements

  • Expert in Java or Kotlin in the context of distributed systems and services
  • 4+ years of experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
  • Rock-solid computer science foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design
  • Familiarity with common CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub Actions, Drone or Spinnaker
  • Consistent high code quality, automated testing and adherence to engineering best practices
  • Pragmatic, collaborative approach to getting things done
