Description

lemon.markets operates a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform that lets fintechs, banks and wealth managers reach capital markets through a single API, and is part of the dwpbank group. As a backend engineer in the Investing domain you design and own the services behind the brokerage API platform, spanning the full securities lifecycle: instruments and market data, orders and trades, portfolios and positions, taxes, clearing and settlement, corporate actions and reporting. You work end to end in a cross-functional team with internal and external partners on secure, resilient systems for customer and institutional order workflows, including batch trading, transfers, transaction reporting and market abuse screening. The role carries real influence over architecture of the core platform. The stack is Python, FastAPI, AWS and Postgres, though the team hires technology-agnostically.

Requirements

  • Writes well-structured, maintainable and well-tested code in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Ruby, JavaScript or TypeScript)
  • Experience designing and implementing highly scalable architecture and reliable REST APIs
  • Solid experience with software in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP or Azure) and its architectural patterns
  • Good understanding of relational or document-based database technology such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Able to guide other engineers towards high-quality, maintainable and tested code through code reviews
  • Track record of designing, building and operating reliable and scalable backend systems in a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to learn Python, even if you have not worked with it before
  • Ownership mindset: able to act decisively without supervision and thrive in a lean, startup-like environment
