Description

lemon.markets runs a Brokerage-as-a-Service platform that gives fintechs, banks and wealth managers API access to capital markets, and is part of the dwpbank group. In this role you design and own reliable, scalable backend services in the Banking domain, covering settlements, payments, ledger accuracy and reconciliation so that money moves safely for partners and their customers. You take end-to-end ownership within a cross-functional team, helping meet regulatory and contractual SLAs and tracking partner-visible incidents that could affect trust and assets under custody. The work carries significant weight in architectural decisions on the core platform and systems. The stack is Python, FastAPI, AWS and Postgres, although the company is technology-agnostic when hiring.

Requirements

  • Writes well-structured, maintainable and well-tested code in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Ruby, JavaScript or TypeScript)
  • Experience designing and implementing highly scalable architecture and reliable REST APIs
  • Solid experience with software in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP or Azure) and its architectural patterns
  • Good understanding of relational or document-based database technology such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Able to guide other engineers towards high-quality, maintainable and tested code through code reviews
  • Track record of designing, building and operating reliable and scalable backend systems in a cross-functional team
  • Willingness to learn Python, even if you have not worked with it before
  • Ownership mindset: able to act decisively without supervision and thrive in a lean, startup-like environment
