Description

Operational planning role at FlixTrain in Berlin, responsible for in-year planning of the FlixTrain service, especially efficient duty rosters for train staff such as drivers, conductors and train assistants. You will specialise in short-term special services and changes, such as locomotive and carriage transfers and special trips, and develop regular and special timetables that meet operational and legal requirements. The role also involves finding economical solutions during construction works, coordinating train paths, service facilities and workshop capacities with internal and external partners, and analysing operations to identify optimisation potential. It suits someone with first experience in rail operations, duty or transport planning and very good German (C1).

Requirements

  • Ideally first experience in operational, duty or transport planning in rail transport, plus vocational training or a degree in transport, logistics or a comparable field
  • Good technical and economic understanding to grasp complex relationships and develop pragmatic solutions
  • Structured way of working, sense of responsibility and a strong hands-on mentality
  • Familiarity with planning software such as TPN, FBS, IVU, WILSON or comparable systems, or the motivation to learn them quickly
  • Very good German skills (C1 level) and confident use of MS Office
