Description

Helsing is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer specialising in product security, cryptography and cyber for its CA-1 programme, which builds the software-defined intelligence layer for an advanced European combat aircraft. You will define and govern the platform's security architecture, from security requirements shaping hardware and software design to the compliance artefacts required by national and NATO security authorities. The role covers the aircraft-level security concept, intra- and inter-vehicle communication security, cryptographic key management including erase and zeroise functions, and vulnerability analysis and adversarial testing. You will work directly with customers such as the Bundeswehr and German national security authorities, so professional fluency in German is required.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and delivering end-to-end security architectures for military or defence-grade systems, spanning requirements, system design and compliance evidence
  • Ability to apply NATO security standards and national regulations, including relevant STANAGs and German national security frameworks
  • Experience developing cryptographic management concepts for complex platforms, including crypto key management design and lifecycle governance
  • Experience conducting structured vulnerability analysis and adversarial threat assessments on safety- or mission-critical networked systems
  • Experience defining communication security designs for intra- and inter-platform data exchange in a defence or government context
  • Professional fluency in German for engaging with national security authorities, regulators and customers
