Description

Celonis is hiring a Senior Applied Value Engineer in Munich to solve business-critical problems for its most strategic global customers using the Celonis Process Intelligence platform and AI technologies from vendors such as Microsoft and OpenAI. You will diagnose customers' strategies and operational challenges, discover domain-specific use cases, and architect and prototype AI solutions, including secure, scalable LLM/agent systems with RAG, tools and guardrails. The role leads high-stakes Proof-of-Value projects, demonstrates business impact to C-suite executives, and stays involved until agreed value and adoption targets are achieved. You will also codify your work into reusable methodology and assets and mentor junior peers. The position requires 5+ years of executive-facing presales or value engineering experience, Python and SQL skills, and native-level German.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of executive-facing presales and value engineering experience, independently owning the technical close and driving AI transformation narratives
  • Proven background in accountable Proof-of-Value execution, complex ROI/TCO modelling and driving projects through to achieved value
  • Comprehensive knowledge of core operational workflows and industry landscapes (e.g. supply chain, finance) and ability to connect systemic bottlenecks to strategic AI solutions for C-suite executives
  • Software and data engineering skills: Python proficiency, modular API design, reusable libraries, advanced SQL and scalable data integration using ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Hugging Face)
  • Strong presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders, including executives, in whiteboarding sessions, formal readouts and demos
  • Native-level or near-native written and spoken German, with the ability to lead customer workshops and present to executives
